Jack Roosevelt Robinson (January 31, 1919 - October 24, 1972) was an American professional baseball player who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the modern era. Robinson broke the baseball color line when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. When the Dodgers signed Robinson, they heralded the end of racial segregation in professional baseball that had relegated black players to the Negro leagues since the 1880s. Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

During his 10-year MLB career, Robinson won the inaugural Rookie of the Year Award in 1947, was an All-Star for six consecutive seasons from 1949 through 1954, and won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1949—the first black player so honored. Robinson played in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers' 1955 World Series championship.

In 1997, MLB retired his uniform number 42 across all major league teams; he was the first professional athlete in any sport to be so honored. MLB also adopted a new annual tradition, "Jackie Robinson Day", for the first time on April 15, 2004, on which every player on every team wears No. 42.

Ebbets Field was a Major League Baseball stadium in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. It is known mainly for having been the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team of the National League, from 1913 to 1957, but was also home to three National Football League teams in the 1920s. Ebbets Field was demolished in 1960 and replaced by apartment buildings.

Dodger Stadium is a baseball park in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It is the home stadium of Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers. Opened 58 years ago on April 10, 1962, it was constructed in less than three years at a cost of US$23 million. It is the oldest ballpark in MLB west of the Mississippi River, and third-oldest overall, after Fenway Park in Boston (1912) and Wrigley Field in Chicago (1914), and is the world's largest baseball stadium by seat capacity. Often referred to as a "pitcher's ballpark", the stadium has seen 12 no-hitters, two of which were perfect games.

Rogers Centre, originally SkyDome, is a multi-purpose retractable roof stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 1989, it is home to the MLB Toronto Blue Jays. The stadium was also home to the CFL Toronto Argonauts from 1989 to 2005 and the NBA Toronto Raptors from 1995 to 1999.

Nicknamed "The Bambino" and "The Sultan of Swat", he began his MLB career briefly as a star left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox but achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees.

The original Yankee Stadium was located in the Bronx, a borough of New York City, NY. It was the home ballpark of the New York Yankees, from 1923 to 1973 and 1976 to 2008. The stadium hosted 6,581 Yankees regular season home games during its storied 85-year history.

Lynn Nolan Ryan Jr., nicknamed The Ryan Express, is an American former MLB pitcher. Over a record 27-year career from 1966 to 1993, Ryan pitched for the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers.

Ryan was a right-handed pitcher who consistently threw pitches above 100 mph maintaining this velocity throughout his pitching career. Ryan was also known for throwing a devastating 12–6 curveball at exceptional velocity for a breaking ball. Ryan had a lifetime record of 324–292 (.526) and was an eight-time MLB All-Star. His 5,714 career strikeouts are an MLB record by a significant margin of 839 strikeouts. Ryan's lifetime batting average allowed of .204 is also an MLB record. Ryan is the all-time leader in no-hitters with seven. He is tied with Bob Feller for the most one-hitters, with 12. Ryan also pitched 18 two-hitters. Despite this, he never pitched a perfect game, nor did he ever win a Cy Young Award, but he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.

Seals Stadium was a minor league baseball stadium in San Francisco, that later became the first home of the major league San Francisco Giants. Opened in the Mission District in 1931, Seals Stadium was the longtime home of the San Francisco Seals (1931–57) of the Pacific Coast League. The Pacific Coast League Mission Reds (1931–37) shared the ballpark with the Seals for the first seven years before moving to Los Angeles.

In 1958, Seals Stadium became a temporary home for the San Francisco Giants for their first two seasons in San Francisco while Candlestick Park was under construction. Less than three decades old, Seals Stadium was demolished in late 1959.

Cheney Stadium is a Minor League Baseball stadium located in Tacoma, Washington. It currently serves as home of the Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League, as well as professional soccer clubs Tacoma Defiance of the USL Championship and OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League. The stadium opened in 1960 and has a capacity of 6,500. It is next to Henry Foss High School, and the stadium has an agreement with the school to use the school parking lot for parking.

When it opened April 12, 1909, it became baseball's first steel-and-concrete stadium. The venue's two home teams won both the first and last games at the stadium: the Athletics beat the Boston Red Sox 8-1 on opening day 1909, while the Phillies beat the Montreal Expos 2-1 on October 1, 1970, in the park's final contest.

Sportsman's Park was the name of several former Major League Baseball ballpark structures in St. Louis, Missouri. All but one of these were located on the same piece of land, at the northwest corner of Grand Boulevard and Dodier Street, on the north side of the city.

From 1920–1953, Sportsman's Park was the home field of both the St. Louis Browns of the American League, and the St. Louis Cardinals of the National League, after which the Browns departed to become the modern-day Baltimore Orioles. The physical street address was 2911 North Grand Boulevard. This ballpark (by then known as Busch Stadium, but still commonly called Sportsman's Park) was also the home of the St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League from 1960 through 1965, after the team's relocation from Chicago and before Busch Memorial Stadium opened its doors in 1966. In 1923, the stadium hosted St. Louis's first NFL team, the St. Louis All-Stars.

Hard Rock Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Miami Gardens, Florida, a city north of Miami. It is the home stadium of the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). Hard Rock Stadium also plays host to the Miami Hurricanes football team. In addition, the facility hosts the Orange Bowl, an annual college football bowl game. It was the home to the Florida Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1993 to 2011. From 2019, the stadium is home to the Miami Open tennis tournament, played in March.

The stadium has hosted six Super Bowls (XXIII, XXIX, XXXIII, XLI, XLIV, and LIV), the 2010 Pro Bowl,[9] two World Series (1997 and 2003), four BCS National Championship Games (2001, 2005, 2009, 2013), the second round of the 2009 World Baseball Classic, and WrestleMania XXVIII. The stadium hosted the College Football Playoff National Championship [10] in 2021, as well as has "agreed in principle" to host the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix in 2021.

The facility opened in 1987 as Joe Robbie Stadium and has been known by a number of names since: "Pro Player Park", "Pro Player Stadium", "Dolphins Stadium", "Dolphin Stadium", "Land Shark Stadium", and "Sun Life Stadium". In August 2016, the team sold the naming rights to Hard Rock Cafe Inc. for $250 million over 18 years.

These pen blanks are sourced from the red plastic seats of Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA. Three Rivers Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium home to the MLB's Pittsburgh Pirates and the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers from 1970-2000. Built as a replacement for Forbes Field, ground was broken in April 1968. The stadium opened on July 16, 1970, when the Pirates played their first game there. In the 1971 World Series, Three Rivers Stadium hosted the first World Series game played at night. The final game in the stadium was won by the Steelers on December 16, 2000. After its closing, Three Rivers Stadium was demolished in 2001, and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers moved into PNC Park and Heinz Field, respectively.
