Olaf Kölzig, known as Olie the Goalie or Godzilla, is a South African-born German former professional NHL ice hockey goaltender. He is the current goaltender coach and player development coach for the NHL Washington Capitals.

The Capitals selected him 19th overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. Kölzig played his first NHL game in the 1989–90 NHL season, but was sent down to the minors until 1995. With the exception of eight games with Tampa Bay at the end of his career, he played his entire 14-year NHL career with the Capitals. On 23 September 2009, Kölzig announced his retirement from the NHL. Later that year, Kölzig was named to the ECHL Hall of Fame at the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game in Ontario, California. The Capitals have not issued Kölzig's number 37 since his retirement.

Kölzig ranks among the NHL's top 30 in career saves (15th with 18,233), wins (28th with 303), games played (23rd with 719), and minutes played (23rd with 41,671).

Rodney Cory Langway is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. Langway was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1977 and by the WHA Birmingham Bulls in the same year. He played one season for the Bulls in 1977-78 before joining the Canadiens for the 1978–79 NHL season. The Canadiens went won the Stanley Cup in 1979.

Langway was traded to the Washington Capitals in 1982. This trade is attributed to stopping the franchise from moving out of D.C. The Capitals competed in the postseason in all 11 years while Langway was captain of the team until his retirement in 1993.

As captain, Langway became known as an accomplished leader who demanded greatness from himself and others, earning the nickname "Secretary of Defense". A two-time winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the top defenseman in the NHL, Langway was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002.

Montreal Forum (French: Le Forum de Montréal) was an indoor arena located facing Cabot Square in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Called "the most storied building in hockey history" by Sporting News, it was the home of the National Hockey League's Montreal Maroons from 1924 to 1938 and the Montreal Canadiens from 1926 to 1996. The Forum was built by the Canadian Arena Company in 159 days.

Located at the northeast corner of Atwater and Ste-Catherine West (Metro Atwater), the building was historically significant as it was home to 24 Stanley Cup championships (22 of the Canadiens and two of the Montreal Maroons, for whom the arena was originally built). It was also home to the Montreal Roadrunners and Montreal Junior Canadiens.

Timothy Leif "T. J." Oshie, born December 23, 1986, is an American professional ice hockey right winger for the NHL Washington Capitals. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, as the 24th overall pick. He then spent the first seven years of his NHL career with the St. Louis Blues. On July 2, 2015, Oshie was traded by the Blues to the Washington Capitals. Oshie wears number 77 for the Capitals, as his previous number 74 is currently worn by Capitals defenseman John Carlson. Oshie won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Washington Capitals in 2018 season.

Oshie is widely considered a shootout specialist in the NHL and is one of the top career leaders in goals scored and scoring percentage since the league adopted shootouts in overtime for the 2005–06 season.

The Spectrum (later known as CoreStates Spectrum, First Union Spectrum and Wachovia Spectrum) was an indoor arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Opened in the fall of 1967 as part of what is now known as the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, after several expansions of its seating capacity it accommodated 18,168 for basketball and 17,380 for ice hockey, arena football, indoor soccer, and box lacrosse.

The last event at the Spectrum was a Pearl Jam concert on October 31, 2009. The arena was demolished between November 2010 and May 2011.

Opened as the Spectrum in fall 1967, Philadelphia's first modern indoor sports arena was built to be the home of the expansion Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL, and also to accommodate the existing Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. The building was the second major sports facility built at the south end of Broad Street in an area previously known as East League Island Park and now referred to simply as the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

The St. Louis Blues are a professional ice hockey team based in St. Louis. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division of the Western Conference. The franchise was founded in 1967 as one of the six teams from the 1967 NHL expansion and is named after the W. C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues". The Blues play their home games at the 19,150-seat Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis, which has been their arena since moving from St. Louis Arena in 1994.

The Blues qualified for the playoffs in all but nine of their 52 seasons, appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals four times, and won the Stanley Cup in 2019. Their 42 playoff appearances are the most for any NHL team outside of the Original Six, although the franchise struggled in the postseason throughout much of their history.
