Memorial Stadium was a sports stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, that formerly stood on 33rd Street (aka 33rd Street Boulevard or renamed "Babe Ruth Plaza") on an oversized block (officially designated as Venable Park, a former city park from the 1920s) also bounded by Ellerslie Avenue (west), 36th Street (north), and Ednor Road (east). Two different stadiums were located here, a 1922 version known as "Baltimore Stadium", or "Municipal Stadium", or sometimes 'Venable Stadium', and, for a time, "Babe Ruth Stadium" in reference to the then-recently deceased Baltimore native. The rebuilt multi-sport stadium, when reconstruction (expansion to an upper deck) was completed in the summer of 1954, would become known as "Memorial Stadium". The stadium was also known as "The Old Gray Lady of 33rd Street", and also (for Colts games) as "The World's Largest Outdoor Insane Asylum."

Memorial Stadium started out in life as Municipal Stadium, also known as Baltimore Stadium, and as Venable Stadium. Designed by Pleasants Pennington and Albert W. Lewis, it was built in 1922 over a six-month period at the urging of the Mayor, William F. Broening (1870-1953, served 1919-1923, 1927-1931), in a previously undeveloped area just north beyond the City's iconic rows of rowhouses where upon they reached out in the 1920s to many of the largest 19th Century country estates of the wealthy in the northeastern wedge of the City. Constructed in the former Venable Park, established in the early 20th Century, the Stadium was operated by the City's Board of Park Commissioners on behalf of the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks. It was primarily a football stadium, a large horseshoe with an earthen-mound exterior and its open end with a large stone gateway of a Greek/Roman columnade and porticoes on the open-faced south side facing the new 33rd Street boulevard/parkway which had just recently been cut through east to west. In this configuration, it seated anywhere from 70,000 to 80,000 people.

The Orioles said goodbye to Memorial Stadium, the team's home for 38 years, at the end of the 1991 campaign.

The professional American football franchise currently known as the Indianapolis Colts was originally based in Baltimore, Maryland, as the Baltimore Colts from 1953 to 1984.

The Baltimore Ravens played their first two years in the NFL in 1996 and 1997 seasons before moving to their permanent home at M&T Bank Stadium.

These blanks were sourced from the from the plastic seats of Oriole Park at Camden Yards a Major League Baseball MLB ballpark located in Baltimore, MD.

Home to the Baltimore Orioles, it is the first of the "retro" major league ballparks constructed during the 1990s and early 2000s. It was completed in 1992 to replace Memorial Stadium.

The park is situated in downtown Baltimore, a few blocks west of Inner Harbor in the Camden Yards Sports Complex. Historically, Oriole Park at Camden Yards is one of several venues that have carried the "Oriole Park" name for various Baltimore franchises over the years.

The shred pieces of v1.0 vs v2.0 are significantly different in size. The blanks from v1.0 turned very similar to coffee bean or small seashell banks. The blanks from v2.0 turn much easier and are far less prone to chip-out.

As usual with all blanks from SPB, each blank comes with one COA per blank.

M&T Bank Stadium is a multi-purpose football stadium located in Baltimore, MD. It is the home of the NFL Baltimore Ravens. The stadium is adjacent to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles. Often referred to as "Ravens Stadium", M&T Bank Stadium officially opened in 1998.

The stadium was originally known as Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards, until PSINet acquired the naming rights in 1999, naming it PSINet Stadium. It then reverted to Ravens Stadium in 2002 until M&T Bank bought the naming rights in 2003.

Sportsman's Park was the name of several former Major League Baseball ballpark structures in St. Louis, Missouri. All but one of these were located on the same piece of land, at the northwest corner of Grand Boulevard and Dodier Street, on the north side of the city.

From 1920–1953, Sportsman's Park was the home field of both the St. Louis Browns of the American League, and the St. Louis Cardinals of the National League, after which the Browns departed to become the modern-day Baltimore Orioles. The physical street address was 2911 North Grand Boulevard. This ballpark (by then known as Busch Stadium, but still commonly called Sportsman's Park) was also the home of the St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League from 1960 through 1965, after the team's relocation from Chicago and before Busch Memorial Stadium opened its doors in 1966. In 1923, the stadium hosted St. Louis's first NFL team, the St. Louis All-Stars.

Yankee Stadium History

The Old Yankee Stadium: The House That Ruth Built

Yankee Stadium, the legendary "House That Ruth Built," stands as one of the most iconic venues in American sports history. Located in the Concourse section of the Bronx, New York City, the original stadium opened its doors on April 18, 1923, as the new home of Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees. Previously tenants of the New York Giants at the Polo Grounds, the Yankees’ owners, Jacob Ruppert and Tillinghast L’Hommedieu Huston, invested boldly in a state-of-the-art ballpark to capitalize on the surging popularity of their star slugger, Babe Ruth.

Construction began on May 5, 1922, on land purchased from the estate of William Waldorf Astor for around $675,000. Built by the White Construction Company at a cost of approximately $2.5 million (equivalent to roughly $36–39 million today), the stadium was completed in just 284 days. It featured a massive horseshoe-shaped design with triple-decked grandstands—the first true "stadium" in baseball rather than the wooden or steel-framed parks common at the time. Its innovative scale accommodated up to 58,000–60,000 fans—nearly double many contemporaries—reflecting confidence in Ruth’s drawing power.

On Opening Day, Ruth delivered a storybook moment, hitting the stadium’s first home run in a 4–1 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Sportswriter Fred Lieb of the New York Evening Telegram promptly dubbed it “The House That Ruth Built,” a nickname that endured for decades. The Yankees won the 1923 World Series in their inaugural season at the new park, launching a dynasty. Over its lifetime, the original Yankee Stadium hosted 6,581 regular-season Yankees games and 37 World Series contests, playing a central role in 26 of the franchise’s championships.

The stadium wasn’t just about baseball. It also served as home to the New York Giants NFL team from 1956 to 1973 and hosted major boxing matches, concerts, and other events. Its short right-field porch became legendary for Ruth and later power hitters like Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, and Reggie Jackson. Monument Park, initially in center field and later relocated, honored the franchise’s greats and became a hallowed ground within the ballpark.

By the late 1960s and early 1970s, the aging facility showed its wear. A major renovation from late 1973 to April 1976 forced the Yankees to play at Shea Stadium (home of the Mets). The $160 million overhaul removed obstructing columns for better sightlines, added escalators, modernized concessions and restrooms, and updated the overall infrastructure, breathing new life into the venue for another three decades.

Despite the updates, structural concerns mounted in later years. A 1998 concrete collapse in the stands led to a game cancellation, highlighting ongoing maintenance challenges. The stadium closed after the 2008 season. Its final game on September 21, 2008, featured a memorable ceremony with legends and a 7–3 Yankees win over the Baltimore Orioles. Demolition began in 2009 and was completed in 2010. The site was transformed into Heritage Field, a public park preserving the spirit of the original location.

The old Yankee Stadium represented more than concrete and steel—it embodied the golden era of baseball, the rise of the Yankees as America’s team, and the cultural heartbeat of New York. Its legacy lives on in the new Yankee Stadium (opened 2009), which incorporated architectural tributes like the copper frieze and Monument Park. For generations of fans, “The House That Ruth Built” remains the Cathedral of Baseball, a symbol of excellence, history, and unforgettable moments.
