Black & White Ebony is native to Southeast Asia, primarily sourced from Indonesia (especially Sulawesi and surrounding islands), the Philippines, and parts of Malaysia. It grows in tropical lowland forests where it develops its signature contrasting black and white streaked pattern.

Description & Characteristics

Black & White Ebony is a dramatic and highly prized turning wood known for its bold, high-contrast striping. The heartwood features alternating bands of deep jet black and creamy white to pale tan, creating striking patterns that make every pen truly one-of-a-kind. It is dense, heavy, and extremely stable with a fine, even grain that takes a mirror-like polish.

These premium 5" × ¾" square pen blanks are pre-squared, kiln-dried, and selected for strong contrast and interesting stripe patterns, making them perfect for turning elegant single-barrel or slimline pens that stand out dramatically.
