These solid Fordite blanks measure approximately 13/16" square by 5" minimum length, slightly oversized for easier trimming and turning. The natural material delivers unpredictable layers of paint in striking visual character, making every blank one-of-a-kind.

Casting & Turning Story

Solid Fordite turns with care using sharp carbide tools like our Black Line carbide tools or HSS at 2,000–3,000 RPM with light cuts. Sand wet from 220 up to 2,000 grit and fill minor voids with thin CA glue as needed. Finish with Magic Juice polish for a deep glossy shine that highlights the historic layers. Minor variations and inclusions are part of its charm.
