This wood features a straight to slightly interlocked grain with a fine, even texture that turns smoothly and finishes beautifully. Its rich color and natural luster make it a favorite among woodturners for creating classic, professional-looking pens that improve with age and use.
Each blank is carefully selected for quality grain and color, delivering outstanding stability and workability for both beginners and experienced turners alike.
About Walnut Wood
American Black Walnut is a premium native hardwood found throughout the eastern United States. It is highly valued for its striking appearance and excellent working properties. The heartwood ranges from light brown to deep chocolate or purplish-black, often with attractive figuring and color variation that makes every piece unique.
With a Janka hardness rating of approximately 1,010 lbf, Walnut is durable yet easier to work with than many exotic hardwoods. It has good dimensional stability and takes stains, dyes, and finishes exceptionally well, allowing for a wide range of beautiful results.
Walnut has been a favorite of furniture makers, gunstock carvers, and woodturners for centuries. Its combination of rich color, smooth turning characteristics, and natural elegance makes it one of the most popular woods for fine pens, knife handles, and other turned projects.
Creating with Walnut means working with a true American classic — a wood that brings warmth, depth, and sophistication to every finished piece.

War Memorial Stadium (nicknamed The Rockpile) was an outdoor stadium in the northeast United States in Buffalo, New York. It hosted Minor League Baseball and professional football teams, most notably the Buffalo Bills of the American Football League (AFL), and later National Football League (NFL).
The stadium was on a rectangular block near the downtown area and its baseball diamond had an unorthodox southeast alignment (home plate to center field).[2] The main entrance was in the left field corner at Jefferson Avenue to the east and Best Street to the south (behind right field). Its other boundaries were Dodge Street to the north (behind third base) and Masten Park to the west (behind first base) with Masten Avenue farther west. The east-west alignment of the football field was also unorthodox, running along the third base line. The elevation at street level is approximately 650 feet (200 m) above sea level.
War Memorial Stadium was built as a WPA project in 1937. It was originally named Roesch Memorial Stadium, though the name was changed to Grover Cleveland Stadium later in 1937 (honoring the former President and Buffalo public official) and then to Civic Stadium in 1938. The name was changed to War Memorial Stadium in 1960.[3]
The stadium originally sat 35,000, but expansions raised the capacity to over 46,500. Despite this, by the time of the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, it was one of the league's smallest stadiums (below the league's new 50,000-seat minimum). After considering[4] and rejecting a move to Seattle, the Bills left after the 1972 season for Rich Stadium (now New Era Field) in suburban Orchard Park, which had a capacity of over 80,000 in 1973.

Wenge Wood Pen Blanks - Premium Exotic African Hardwood
Product Specifications
Blank Sizes: Each pen blank is a minimum of 5" long × 3/4" × 3/4" square.
Material: Genuine Wenge (Millettia laurentii) — a dense, exotic African hardwood.
Material Story
These premium pen blanks are crafted from genuine **Wenge**, one of the world’s most striking exotic hardwoods. Known for its deep chocolate-to-black color with bold, contrasting streaks, Wenge delivers a rich, sophisticated look that turns heads.
Sourced from the tropical forests of Central Africa, this heavy, dense wood is prized by woodturners for its exceptional strength, durability, and unique grain. The coarse, straight grain and open pores create beautiful visual contrast when finished, often resembling high-end ebony while offering its own distinctive character.
Each blank is carefully selected and processed to ensure stability and outstanding turnability. Whether you're making elegant pens, knife handles, or other fine turned projects, Wenge adds a bold, luxurious touch that stands out in any collection.
About Wenge Wood
Wenge is a premium exotic hardwood native to the tropical rainforests of Central Africa, primarily from countries such as Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Scientifically known as Millettia laurentii, it comes from large trees that can reach up to 90 feet tall with trunks 3–4 feet in diameter.
Renowned for its incredible density and hardness (Janka rating of 1,930 lbf), Wenge is exceptionally strong, durable, and resistant to rot and termites. Its striking appearance — medium to dark brown heartwood with nearly black streaks — gives it a luxurious, almost ebony-like presence that deepens beautifully with age and finishing.
With a straight grain and coarse, open texture, Wenge is a favorite among woodturners and craftsmen for turned objects, musical instruments, furniture, and high-end flooring. Its combination of visual drama and outstanding mechanical properties makes it one of the most sought-after exotic woods in the world.
Owning a Wenge pen blank means working with a true natural treasure — a bold, elegant hardwood that transforms into stunning finished pieces with timeless appeal.

White House embedded blanks are available from Stadium Pen Blanks in the following tube sizes: Sierra Clones 27/64", Bolt Action 3/8", and Custom Size tubes.
The White House original construction was completed in 1800 with John Adams as its first resident. In 1814, during the War of 1812, the mansion was set ablaze by the British Army in the Burning of Washington, destroying the interior and charring much of the exterior. Reconstruction began almost immediately, and President James Monroe moved into the partially reconstructed Executive Residence in October 1817.
The wood Stadium Pen Blanks has available is original to 1817 and removed during one of three separate renovations.
Theodore Roosevelt Renovation of 1902
In 1902, finding the White House deteriorated and cramped, Theodore Roosevelt embarked on an extensive remodeling of the Residence. Plans had been in the works for years to build a new White House or expand the original, including some quite grand designs. Roosevelt wanted to tread lightly and merely remove the Victorian decor accumulated over the previous thirty years while returning the White House to its Federal-period roots.
Calvin Coolidge Renovation of 1927
In 1927, Calvin Coolidge, tired of the leaky roof, had the attic space expanded into a full third floor by constructing a steel-frame story atop the brick and mortar walls of 1800. The extra space provided more room for the first family and shifted more servants out of the Residence. The president and first lady rented Patterson House, one mile away, for the six months it took to renovate the White House.
Harry Truman Reconstruction of 1950
In 1948, after the Truman Balcony was installed, an engineering survey found the main body of the mansion to be structurally unsound. Floors no longer merely creaked, they swayed. A -thorough examination found wooden beams had been weakened by the cutting and drilling for plumbing and wiring over the past 150 years. The addition of the 1927 steel roof and full third floor added weight the building could no longer handle. Declared to be in imminent danger of collapse, the reconstruction began in 1948.

First Photograph of the White House 1846 The earliest known photograph of the White House was taken in 1846 and is attributed to a Welsh immigrant named John Plumbe, Jr., who was one of the country’s first prominent professional photographers. You can see his daguerreotype above, with its leafless trees and patch of snow capturing a 19th-century January day. According to the White House Historical Association, the “cast of the shadows indicates that the photograph was taken in early morning light.”
