Each blank measures a minimum of 5" long × 3/4" × 3/4" square, sized perfectly for standard pen kits. Acacia offers fine, straight grain with occasional figuring that polishes to a rich luster, making every finished piece unique. Native to North America, this species provides reliable performance for makers seeking a stable domestic hardwood option.

Turning & Finishing Notes

Acacia turns cleanly on standard lathes with carbide or HSS tools, showing minimal tear-out thanks to its stable, even texture. It accepts CA glue, friction polish, and oil-based finishes evenly. Pre-drill for tube insertion to prevent splitting. For best results, sand progressively and avoid excessive heat that could darken the natural color.
