Allen Fieldhouse is an indoor arena in the central United States, on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, Kansas. It is home of the Kansas Jayhawks men's and women's basketball teams. The arena is named after Dr. Forrest C. "Phog" Allen, a former player and head coach for the Jayhawks whose tenure lasted 39 years. Allen Fieldhouse is one of college basketball's most historically significant and prestigious buildings, with 37 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament games having been hosted at the center. The actual playing surface has been named the James Naismith Court, in honor of basketball's inventor, who established KU's basketball program and served as the Jayhawks' first coach from 1898 to 1907.

Allen Fieldhouse has also hosted several NCAA tournament regionals, NBA exhibition games, and occasional concerts such as The Beach Boys, Elton John, James Taylor, Sonny and Cher, Leon Russell, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Tina Turner, Harry Belafonte, Henry Mancini, The Doobie Brothers, Kansas, and Bob Hope, as well as speakers, including former President Bill Clinton in 2004, Senator Robert F. Kennedy (which drew over 20,000) in March 1968, and anarchist Abbie Hoffman in 1970.

ESPN The Magazine named Allen Fieldhouse the loudest college basketball arena in the country. The arena broke the Guinness World Record for loudest roar on February 13, 2017, against West Virginia at 130.4 dB. The prior record of 126.4 dB at Lexington's Rupp Arena which lasted less than three weeks also had many Kansas fans present as the Jayhawks beat the #4 Wildcats 79-73 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

Allen Fieldhouse is often considered one of the best home court advantages in men's college basketball. The Jayhawks have won over 70 percent of their games in Allen Fieldhouse, losing only a little over 100 games in its over 60-year history. Under current head coach Bill Self, the Jayhawks have had three home court winning streaks over 30 games and two streaks that have reached over 50 games.

Alumilite Clear is sold and used by weight, not volume. The B side will always have less volume in the container due to varying densities. Each kit is sold as total weight. For example, a 16# kit is 8# of A and 8# of B.

Alumilite Clear Slow is a premium clear casting resin preferred by professional blank makers around the world! This is the slow version which has a longer open time and a longer demold time. This version was made primarily for the folks who frequently cast more than 24 oz in one cast. The slower cure time helps reduce cracks in the cured resin due to excessive heat build up in the larger pours. For pen blanks, knife blanks, call blanks, and other similar size castings, Alumilite Clear is a better choice due to the quicker cure time and demold time.

This resin was specially formulated with the woodworker's needs in mind including:

Resilience (less brittle than other resin types frequently used) so that your finished pieces don't crack if accidentally dropped
High polishability to achieve that high gloss many demand
High machinability which make your finished blanks easy to turn on a lathe, cut, route, or shape on a belt sander
Low shrinkage which makes Alumilite Clear the preferred resin for Worthless Wood (wood and resin) castings
Optical clarity for those times you need a clear casting which also means your dyed castings will remain true to color
Very low odor so your entire shop does not stink like when using other types of resin!

Alumilite Clear Slow has a 12min open time and pressure casting is recommended to achieve bubble free results.

Alumilite Clear must be mixed 1:1 by weight NOT VOLUME. Off ratio mixing may produce hazy or frosted parts.

Recommended for industrial use only. B side may thicken and need to be warmed before use.

Note: The clarity of resin will shift from batch to batch based on the clarity of incoming raw materials. In most cases, this will not affect product unless used over white backgrounds.

Since the 1870s, it has been customary for most presidents to plant a commemorative tree during their time in office. These trees, varying in species and age, symbolize the evolving history of "The People’s House," with the White House Gardens undergoing continual transformations with each passing season and administration.

Several trees within the White House Grounds have roots dating back to the 1800s, with the oldest being a southern magnolia associated with Andrew Jackson. President Jackson himself planted these majestic southern magnolias, positioned just west of the South Portico, in honor of his late wife, Rachel, who passed away shortly before his inauguration in 1829.

The significance of the trees surrounding the White House serve both symbolic and practical purposes. These trees can symbolize diplomatic friendships between nations or a leader's aspiration to leave behind a lasting legacy for future generations. They also contribute aesthetically, each boasting its own distinct characteristics of shape, color, and flowers, creating a stunning array of diversity. These trees provide habitats for various animals residing on the White House grounds. Lastly, the trees offer security, privacy, and solace to those who inhabit, work in, or visit this historic location.

Folklore tells us that these two southern magnolia trees were planted by President Andrew Jackson with seeds brought to Washington from the Hermitage, the President’s home near Nashville, Tennessee. The seeds were planted to honor the memory of Jackson's late wife, Rachel, who had died suddenly just months prior to him assuming office. Historical photographic documentation shows that magnolias first appeared at this location near the South Portico in the 1860s, still the trees are attributed to President Jackson. In 2006, the trees were designated as Witness Trees by the National Park Service, having borne witness to many “significant historic and cultural events.” The magnolia was subject to significant branch removal and pruning in December 2017. The Jackson Magnolia was a primary feature on the back of the US $20 bill until 1998 as seen below.
